What to include in a building enquiry

The more of the following an enquiry carries, the more useful the first answer will be:

• The site. Where it's, and what is on it now.
• The scheme. Drawings if they exist, at whatever stage they have reached. A sketch is better than nothing.
• Consents. Whether planning permission has been granted, applied for, or not yet considered.
• Access. What can get to the working area, an artic, a rigid lorry, a transit, or nothing wider than a garden gate.
• Timing. When you want to start, and whether there's a date the building has to be finished by.

After you write

Every enquiry gets a reply, including the ones the answer is no to. If the work is something we can take on, it will say what it needs in order to put a price to it, drawings, a specification, and a walk over the ground. If it's not, it will tell you that instead of going quiet.

Every price, programme and set of terms belongs to one job and is issued in writing for that job. Treat nothing on this website as a quotation.

Approaches about sites

Landowners, agents and solicitors write to us about sites. Those are read and answered too. An approach is easiest to deal with when it gives the address, the tenure, the planning position and what is sought for it.
